Valentine's Day

We were working on a problem-based learning case named "Valentine Thank You" written by CERTL to thank our Assistant Principal.  Everyone was a baker and had to solve the problem of how to create a Valentine heart-shaped cake using a square baking pan and a round baking pan. We used paper cutouts to solve the problem first.  As you can see from our pictures, we had great success!  We then cut a real cake using what we learned to make a heart shaped cake from the square cake and round cake.  We had a lot of fun frosting the real cake!  Everyone put on sprinkles to finish the delicious cake!  We invited Mr. Meisinger, Assistant Principal and presented him the thank you cake for all he does for us.  Mr. Curtis Dixon, CERTL staff, joined us in solving the case problem.  He presented all of us with a Valentine gift!  It was an exciting day of learning.
